What is Releasing?

Releasing is a complete system that combines an original process of cognitive inquiry and problem solving with an innovative relaxation technique. This process puts a person in touch with their natural ability to eliminate stress and live into their potential. This is a unique emotional release technique allows us to eliminate stress, to remove obstacles that prevent the achieving of goals, and to provide an amazingly simple method for personal growth. It has been scientifically studied, and researchers from Harvard University and the State University of New York call Releasing an “outstanding technique for its simplicity, efficiency, absence of questionable concepts, and rapidity of observable results.”

Lester Levenson developed this method in the 1970s. Lester held that we are unlimited beings limited only by the concepts of limitation we hold in our minds. If we can get to the essence of who we really are, we can create fundamental and positive change in our quality of life. This process examines beliefs, assumptions, and behaviors and explores our primary strategies for coping with stress.  Through the method of examination, one can get to the core of blocks to happiness, and with the system of releasing, one can let go of them at this core level.  It is a comprehensive system that gets down to the internal causes of stress and not just the effects of stress.
